Filomena Hazel Villa, MD

Biography

Filomena Hazel Villa received her medical education at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Philippines. She completed her pediatric residency at Manila Doctors Hospital, Philippines, and at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, El Paso, Texas.

Dr. Villa went on from there to gain Pediatric Pulmonology training at the University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital.

Currently Dr. Villa is a fellow in training at Children's Hospital Oakland in California.

Dr. Villa says,"Because a lot of times kids cannot express what they feel, I find it challenging to 'feel' for them and make them well."

She has witnessed how babies take their first breath, thus the beginning of life. Wherever she goes, Dr. Villa continues her journey in making sure that kids breathe well. The Bay area has been home to Dr. Villa since she first came to join her family in 2004.
